Meet Caleb King

This summer, Amazing Grace, is privileged to have a Student Assistant from our national church body’s Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. The Student Assistant serves in ministry during the months of June, July, and August. “Primary areas of ministry include: canvassing, survey work (gathering community data), prospect follow-up, Vacation Bible School, teen ministry, and general pastoral work (preaching, teaching, visiting, etc.). Amazing Grace is excited to partner with Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary to provide Seminary student, Caleb King, a hands-on learning experience this summer. We look forward to having him with us as we work together to share Christ with our community!

My name is Caleb King.  I grew up in Lomira, Wisconsin, located in the south-central part of the state. My immediate family consists of my Mom, Dad, and 2 older brothers, which makes me the baby of the family. I attended a parochial Lutheran Elementary School in town (where Pastor Zahn was a Student Assistant his Senior year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary) before heading to Winnebago Lutheran Academy for High School. After graduating in 2014 I headed off to Martin Luther College to begin pre-seminary studies, and I graduated in the spring of 2018. After MLC, I decided to take a year off from the school grind and get some world experience outside of the United States before heading to Seminary. That adventure took me to Linares, Chile. In Chile I taught English as a Second Language classes, grew in my Spanish abilities, and assisted the Evangelical Lutheran Synod mission congregation in Linares. It was the greatest year of my life! Now I’m in my second semester of my first year at the Seminary.

I’m a pretty outgoing individual and enjoy conversations and meeting new people! I love to travel, so I’m very excited to take my next adventure to Myrtle Beach! My most recent adventure was to Colombia during our two-week Winterim at WLS. I also love the ocean and sea life. I love sports, whether playing or watching on TV (I’m a big Wisconsin sports fan). Whether it is playing soccer, basketball, golf, your average lawn (or beach) game, board game, or even ping pong, I love games!

I look forward to arriving in Myrtle Beach and getting to know you all. I count it a blessing to have the opportunity to come to Myrtle Beach, I know I will learn so much from all of you, and I pray God uses me to help Amazing Grace reach more people with the Gospel that desperately need to hear it.

God be with you ’til we meet at the end of May!

Your brother in Christ,

Caleb King
